- Vin Decoder
AutoXplorer's VIN decoder will decode any valid 17 digit vin and filling the following information for you: year, make, model, body style, fuel type, engine description, and drive train.
- Vehicle Status Module
Use this module to look up the status of any car in one screen. If the car is available you can view details about that given car and click “Go To Inventory” to be taken to the inventory desk for that car. If the car is sold you can view details about the car and the sales deal. You can also click on “Go To Sales Desk” to be taken to the sales desk for that given deal. This module is also referred to as a Global Search.
- Security Privileges
AutoXplorer comes with a set of security privileges that you can assign to your staff. You can use Default User, Power User, and Administrator. These security roles have predefined abilities that cannot be changed. If you want to give specific tasks to your staff you can do this using the Security Privileges Module. With this feature you can have certain people save deals while others have the ability to delete deals. You can assign some people to run credit reports whiles others do not have that ability. Basically the entire program can be broken up into privileges you assign to certain people in your staff.
- Sales Desk
AutoXplorer's Sales Desk is packed with features to help you sell cars. You will use each and every one of the five tabs to complete your deal. First, the Deal Worksheet is where you enter all of your deals specifications on one screen including asking price, cash down, accessories, trade ins, service contracts, gap insurance, and many more. Second, the Customer Tab is where you enter your buyers and co-buyers information along with their current car insurance information. Third, the Vehicle tab is where you can run a AutoCheck vehicle history report and enter the cars ROS number and mileage out. Fourth, the Deal Structure shows a breakdown of your entire deal. You can also print a generic purchase order from this tab or use the faxing module to fax a copy to your lender. Finally, the Notes tab can be used to store any notes about this deal or your customer.
- Report Printing
Depending on which version of AutoXplorer you have, there are a number of pre-programmed reports for you to choose from. Reports are broken down into three (3) categories: Available Inventory, Sold Inventory, and Management. Once a report is selected you can filter it by a date range and sort it by any number of given fields in ascending or descending order.
- Recap Deal
Recap your deals by giving your salesman and F&I managers commission and entering your costs/rates for any additional products sold such as gap insurance, accessories, service contracts, etc. You can view your Commission Gross, Sales Gross, F&I Gross, and your Net Profit from one screen. When you are ready to transfer your deal to sold status you can do that from within this screen.
- Prospect Module
Ever had a customer walk on your lot looking for a car that you did not have? Well now you have a way of tracking these high potential leads. Use the Prospect module to store prospect customers information and the cars they are interested in. You can also generate a report matching your prospect leads against your inventory, if a match is found you can then contact your lead to make the sale.
- Payoff Calculator
If you have customers in your Account Desk you can use this feature to calculate how much their payoff will be after a given period of time. You can always view their current payoff by opening their account in the Account Desk. This tool allows you to foreshadow what their payoff will be after they have made X amount of payments. All you need to do is fill in a few simple fields and click calculate to see the results.
- Networking
If you have more than one computer at your dealership AutoXplorer can be networked to share information with all of your computers. At any given moment anyone from any computer in your office can open AutoXplorer and work a deal, look up a car, or simply browse the software.

This feature eliminates the need to change your loan term to find out what your customers payments will be for that given term. With one click you can view your customers payments for 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, and 60 months.

Take control of your inventory and manage your vehicles like never before. AutoXplorers inventory desk is loaded with features, here are just a few: add vehicle cost and recon cost, add options and equipment, add up to 9 images per car, print buyers guides, and print window stickers (not available on all versions). Open and search your inventory with one mouse click.
- Hide Cars / Deals
If you are a large dealership that sells a high volume of cars each and every month then you are no stranger to having hundreds if not thousands of deals in your software program. View recent deals or cars can be a pain if you have to sort through that many deals. AutoXplorer allows you to “hide” deals or cars sold before a given date. This means you can set AutoXplorer to only show you deals or cars for the past year. At any given time you can remove this filter to view all of your deals.

AutoXplorer can fax your deal structure and customers credit report directly to your lenders with the click of a button. You don’t have to print out numerous sheets of paper and manually walk to the fax machine to accomplish this simple task. Let AutoXplorer do it for you so you can spend more time with your customer.(A fax modem and active phone line to your computer is required to use this feature)
- Drivers License Scanner
Eliminate the daunting task of enter your customers information over and over with a drivers license scanner. All you need to do is swipe your customers drivers license and AutoXplorer will fill in all the applicable fields for you.(This feature requires the purchase of a drivers license scanner from AutoXplorer)

- Default Sorting
AutoXplorer allows you to sort certain screens by make, model, year, body style, stock no, color, or vin. Also the next time you open the same screen again AutoXplorer remembers your previous sort option, so your screen looks the same as it did before you closed it.
- Default Printer Setup
If you have more then one printer connected to your computer (one for printing contracts, and one for printing reports) you can specify which printer you want used for printing contracts and which printer you want used for printing reports. This feature allows you to set it and forget it. You no longer have to preview a print job in order to select which printer you want to use.
- Database Restore
If for any reason your computer crashes or you had to reinstall your AutoXplorer software you can restore your backed up data into your program.
- Database Backup
Backup your AutoXplorer data as often as you like. AutoXplorer allows you to backup your database to a floppy drive, flash drive, secondary hard drive, or another folder on your main hard drive. We recommend backing up your data at the very least once a week.
- Custom Commission Calculation
You can setup AutoXplorer to give your salesman different commission amounts based on the cars asking price. You can give your sales man three different commission amounts one for each of the following cases: the car is sold at the asking price, the car is sold over the asking price, the car is sold below the asking price. You can use percentages or flat amounts to figure out your salesman’s commission.
- Credit Application Module
AutoXplorer's Credit Application Module will allow you to do one of three things. First, you can print a blank credit application and have your customer fill it out by hand. Second you can fill in all the appropriate information and have AutoXplorer print out a generic credit application on plain paper. Finally, you can fill out the appropriate information and have AutoXplorer print out on your Pre-Printed LAW Credit Application Form.
- Car Picture Preview
From any open dialog screen or the vehicle status module you can click and hold your left mouse button down on any car to view a picture for that car. This allows you to see what car you are selecting before you select it. In order to see a picture for any car one must be added for that car in the inventory desk first. If more than one photo is added for any car only the first image will show in the picture preview.
- Buyers Guide Editor
Buyers guides are a dime a dozen and can be bought from almost anywhere. If you have a buyers guide that AutoXplorer does not currently have in its library you can manually create and edit a buyers guide to line up with your own buyers guide.
- Autosave Wholesale Buyers
After completing a wholesale deal your customers information will automatically be saved in your list of wholesale dealers for future use. This mean less double entry and less time to complete future deals with your wholesalers.
- Account Desk
Also known as Buy Here Pay Here Module. This module allows you to finance vehicles in house. It will allow you to record loan and deferred payments. Run a number of BHPH reports showing individual account status. Some features include: the ability to print coupon books, print late notices, apply miscellaneous debits and or adjustments, view ledger history, pay-off calculator, and print an amortization sheet.
- Online Database Backup / Restore
Not only does AutoXplorer give you the ability to create backups to a floppy drive, flash drive, or hard drive but you can create backups to our secure online server. External media can always go bad but with a secure server you are virtually guaranteed to have a backup if your AutoXplorer goes down. All you need is to have an internet connection and you can backup and restore your data using our online server.(An additional monthly fee may be required to use this feature)
- KBB Import Wizard
AutoXplorer allows you to import your cars from Kelly Blue Book. This is a useful feature if you input all of your cars into KBB first to get their book values and do not want to do double entry. AutoXplorer will import all the cars specifications into your Inventory Desk.
- Credit Bureau Module
Have the ability to make financing decisions on the spot with AutoXplorers Credit Bureau Module. You can get setup to run credit reports from Experian, Trans Union, or Equifax. All you need to do is enter your customers information and with one click and 10 seconds your customers credit report is displayed inside your AutoXplorer program.(This feature requires a credit account through GCS, Inc. Additional fees apply to run credit reports)
- Buy A Car Module
AutoXplorer will allow you to purchase a car from anyone without having to accept the car as a trade in. You can enter the vehicles purchase amount, purchase date, and sellers information. Once all the information is entered you have the option of printing your states vehicle transfer form and saving the car to your inventory. This feature eliminates the need to do point of purchase contracts by hand and double entry into the AutoXplorer Software.
- AutoCheck
Run a comprehensive vehicle history report using Experian's AutoCheck, a state of the art vehicle reporting system. You no longer have to exit your AutoXplorer program and navigate to Experian's website to run your reports. From throughout the AutoXplorer software you can view any cars history report with the click of one button.(A active AutoCheck account is required to use this feature)
- Letter Editor
AutoXplorer's Letter Editor allows you to create/edit/delete custom letters that can be used in the Follow Up Module or in your Account Desk. You can create any number of letters to print for your customers when you want to do a mail out.
- Follow Up Module
Have you ever wondered when your customers birthdays are, or when a given cars anniversary is? Well with AutoXplorer's Follow up Module you can run these reports and print custom letters for your customers along with their mailing address on labels. Simply type up your custom letter, select the customers you want to send letters to and click print. Then all you have to do is stick the letter in an envelope and mail them out.
- Cash Down Receipt
You can give your customers extra assurance that their down payments are being accurately recorded by giving them a receipt for their down payment.
